Terakhir, Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) menerima sejumlah asosiasi profesi untuk membahas mengenai rencana pembangunan Ibu Kota Negara, di Istana Kepresidenan, Jakarta, Kamis sore, 15 April 2021.
Hal ini dinyatakan oleh Menteri Perencanaan Pembangunan Nasional/Kepala Badan Perencanaan Pembangunan Nasional (Menteri PPN/Kepala Bappenas) Suharso Monoarfa, usai bersama Menteri Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat Basuki Hadimuljono mendampingi Presiden dalam pertemuan tersebut.
Presiden telah menyatakan bahwa pemerintah akan terbuka dengan semua gagasan, semua usulan yang disampaikan secara baik, konstruktif, untuk membangun ibu kota negara yang akan datang. Suharso menuturkan jika Jokowi telah menerima para ikatan ahli profesi, dari semua disiplin keilmuan. Mulai dari bidang arsitektur, perencanaan, regional planning, lingkungan hidup, dan lainnya. Dalam pertemuan tersebut, ungkap Suharso, Jokowi mendengarkan dengan saksama seluruh masukan-masukan yang disampaikan untuk dijadikan pertimbangan dalam membangun ibu kota negara.
Di lain hal, Ketua Ikatan Ahli Perencanaan Wilayah dan Kota (IAP Indonesia), Hendricus Andy Simarmata mengungkapkan dalam pertemuan tersebut Presiden memberikan kesempatan semua perwakilan asosiasi untuk menyampaikan pandangannya.
Di dalam pertemuan tersebut, ungkap Andy, pihaknya menyampaikan harapan akan adanya ketersambungan antara rencana mulai dari level makro hingga level mikro atau level bangunan.
Selain itu, ujar Andy, pihaknya juga berharap agar ibu kota negara yang akan dibangun ini dapat menjadi contoh bagi dunia internasional mengenai bagaimana Indonesia bisa membangun dengan mengedepankan alam, hutan hujan tropis yang sudah dimiliki dan juga dengan mengedepankan keberpihakan kepada masyarakat lokal.
