SOSOK, malangpost.id – Mungkin sebagian dari Anda mengetahui penggalan puisi karya Sapardi Djoko Damono dari film yang diadaptasi dari novel karya beliau dengan judul yang sama, Hujan Bulan Juni.
Sebait puisi tersebut banyak dikutip setiap kali hujan turun pada bulan Juni, bahkan bagi mereka yang bukan penikmat puisi-puisi Sapardi.
Karya-karyanya dinikmati segala kalangan. Puisi karya Sapardi sangat imajinatif dengan ungkapan yang sangat dalam. Sapardi menghasilkan buku puisi, esai, hingga fiksi yang menghasilkan banyak penghargaan, hingga mancanegara.
Masih banyak sederet puisi lain karya Sapardi yang terkenal, seperti puisi Aku Ingin dan Yang Fana adalah Waktu.
Tidak melulu bertema percintaan, Sapardi juga tak abai terhadap masalah lain. Salah satunya, Sapardi membuat puisi tentang pembunuhan Marsinah, Dongeng Marsinah pada 1993. Puisi Dongeng Marsinah menjadi salah satu puisi dalam kumpulan puisi, Melipat Jarak.
Kepergian Sang Penyair, Sapardi Djoko Damono
Kesehatan penyair Indonesia kelahiran Solo, 20 Maret 1940 ini memang semakin menurun sejak beberapa tahun terakhir. Sapardi beberapa kali menjalani perawatan. Terakhir, ia masuk ICU dan menjalani perawatan di RS Eka di BSD, Tangerang Selatan sejak 10 Juli 2020.
Pada 19 Juli 2020, kabar duka menyelimuti dunia seni Tanah Air. Sastrawan besar Prof. Dr. Sapardi Djoko Damono (80 tahun) menghembuskan napas terakhir pada pukul 09.17.
Taman Pemakaman Giritama, Giri Tonjong, Bogor menjadi tempat istirahat Sapardi. Berpulang di masa pandemi, pemakaman hanya dihadiri keluarga dan kerabat dekat.
Kisah Perjalanan Sang Sastrawan Tanah Air
Sapardi Djoko Damono dikenal sebagai seorang pujangga terkemuka dengan puisi-puisinya yang menggunakan kata-kata sederhana. Karena inilah, karya-karyanya menjadi sangat populer.
Terlahir sebagai anak sulung dari pasangan Sadyoko dan Sapariah, mendapatkan nama Sapardi karena lahir di bulan Sapar. Ayahnya seorang abdi dalem di Keraton Kasunanan.
Sapardi mulai menulis sejak bangku sekolah. Bahkan, karyanya sudah sering dimuat di majalah saat dia masih di sekolah menengah. Kesukaannya akan menulis semakin berkembang saat dia kuliah di Jurusan Sastra Inggris, Fakultas Sastra dan Kebudayaan UGM.
Lulus dari UGM, Sapardi bekerja di bidang pendidikan dengan menjadi dosen di IKIP Malang dan beberapa perguruan tinggi lainnya hingga Universitas Diponegoro Semarang dan Universitas Indonesia Jakarta.
Selain mengajar, Sapardi juga aktif di beberapa lembaga seni dan sastra, diantaranya Dewan Kesenian Jakarta, majalah sastra Horison, Yayasan Dokumentasi Sastra H.B Jassin, dan lainnya.
Sapardi sempat belajar di Universitas Hawaii, Honolulu, Amerika Serikat. Dia memperoleh gelar doktor dalam ilmu sastra dengan disertasinya yang berjudul Novel Jawa Tahun 1950-an: Telaah Fungsi, Isi, dan Struktur pada 1989.
Sejak saat itu, buku karyanya terus bermunculan dalam bentuk esai, novel, dan puisi. Banyak karyanya yang diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa asing seperti Jepang, China, Belanda, dan lainnya.
Kenangan akan Sapardi Djoko Damono
Sapardi dikenal sebagai sosok yang ramah dan terbuka, tidak pernah membangun jarak dengan siapapun. Dia juga tak segan berbagi ilmu yang dimilikinya kepada siapa saja, termasuk anak-anak muda.
Tak jarang, Sapardi memuji karya sastra lain yang dinilainya baik serta mengkritik karya yang dinilainya bermasalah.
Hobi membacanya yang menjadikan Sapardi mendapatkan ide dan terus menulis dan tak berhenti berkarya.
Seorang dosen, penyair, pengamat sastra, kritikus sastra, dan pakar sastra Sapardi Djoko Damono telah berpulang. Namun, karya indahnya akan selalu dikenang.
